Earth Forgets To Cry

Oooooooh
Oooooooh

She held us when we couldn’t stand
Fed the roots beneath our hands
We danced on oceans, drank her skies
Never stopped to hear her cries

We carved our names in every shore
Took and took and asked for more
Built our cities, lit the flame
And never once we asked her name

But she remembers every touch
The quiet love, the gentle hush
Now every breeze is laced with pain
A whisper lost in acid rain

Do you hear her, calling slow?
In every crack, in melting snow
The air we breathe, the ground we tread
She’s bleeding out, we look ahead

We found new gods in glass and gold
And left her heart out in the cold
A mother wrapped in dust and stone
Still sings to us, but sings alone

And if the stars forget her face
We’ll drift forever, out of place
No second Earth to make it right
No lullaby to end the night

Do you hear her, calling slow?
In every crack, in melting snow
The air we breathe, the ground we tread
She’s bleeding out, we look ahead

One final dawn, one final light
A silent scream into the night
We had her love, we let it die
Now even Earth forgets to cry
